[Inventory of possessions : Messina, Italy, 1431 Aug. 20].

Records properties left by Niccolò Balsamo to his son Tuccio (Thucius). The family was of great means, and properties include real estate, farm animals and equipment, 5 "servi" (Russian, Turkish, Tartar, and Ethiopian), art objects, books, a romance of chivalry (Le Gesta di Sicilia), a musical instrument, and other objects with a total of 700 entries. Inventory concludes with a list of those who owe money to the estate (reasons given are for the sale of wine, sale of stones, and for a mortgage).
